689. The very nature of Atma is Ananda…………..

http://www.speakingtree.in/public/spiritual-blogs/seekers/science-of-spirituality/the-very-nature-of-atma-is-ananda

According to scriptures Atma is always at Bliss. This Atma which we are referring is the source for our Consciousness and is called Witness Consciousness. But for the Jeevatma which is the Individual Consciousness, Bliss is made to be a distant reality by our Mind which is always unsatisfied and restless. Mind is both a boon and bane for us to be a witness and thus experience Bliss. Ananda is the very nature of Atma. If we find a person who is sad we ask him the reason for being sad as it is not the nature of humans.

Mind does have a role to play let us understand by looking at the mental state of a Jnani (Enlightened Soul). Very often a Jnani is compared to an Infant, or to a Lunatic or to an intoxicated person. But are the three states similar to that of a Jnani??? If so how????

Infant is not much dependent. It is engrossed in playing with toys and when it feels hungry it cries and its mother feeds it and then it is all Bliss. Its Mind is free from likes and dislikes and is ready to accept any kind of situation. With all these qualities there is innocence in it which is the pinnacle. Its Mind does not have to worry of the past, present or future since it is assured that its mother is present. With such a free, innocent, trusting mind the infant is naturally at Bliss always. A Jnani like an infant keeps his trust in Absolute, and is ready to accept what is in store for him in his Prarabdha Karma.

Lunatic on the other hand is unaware of what is happening around him and is totally unmindful of any kind of mental contract with him and the world. As his Mind has no contact with the world he is blissfully happy in his own world and also exhibits it. This Bliss he is experiencing arises out of his Self being centered with his own mind and not being aware of anything else. This psychological disability to grasp the world and its state of affairs helps him from getting liked or dislike to the situation that usually a common man might experience. Exactly in the same way a Jnani will not get attached to the state of affairs even if involved like the water on the Lotus leaf.

For an Intoxicated person mind becomes light and is revealed of its burdens. The Mind is not active it is numbed for the period of his intoxication so there is no question of his worries or problems. In this condition there is no chance of the problem to surface in his Mind, so he has his mind in temporary Bliss state.

Then is it good to be a drunkard? Alcoholism is just an escape route for a certain period not for ever. The problem resurfaces again once the intoxication is wane out. There is no permanent solution and moreover the vehicle of his soul that is his body gets damaged. A Jnani gets intoxicated by chanting the name of the Absolute which puts out the worries and totally destroys the Doer-ship. He has insight-fully understood that he is not the Body or the Mind but is Atma which is infinite storehouse of Ananda. He is aware that happiness is neither to be found in objects outside nor it is a state of mind, because Ananda is in HIM and he is IT.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna, “Prajahati yada kaman sarvan partha manogatan Atmanieva Atmana tushtah Sithitaprajnah tada uchyate”

meaning -- when an individual completely casts off all the desires of the Mind, and is satisfied in the Self (Jeevatma-Individaul Consciousness) by the Self (Sakshi-Witness Consciousness), then he is said to have steadfast wisdom.

552. My Three Bodies…DEHA TREYA!!!!

http://www.speakingtree.in/public/spiritual-blogs/seekers/mysticism/my-three-bodies-deha-treya

Atma (Soul) is apparently clad in three bodies and enjoys three corresponding states. The physiological system of my body is called Sthula-Deha (Physical Body). The Vital, Psychic, and Intellectual system of my body is called the Sukshma-Deha (Subtle Body). The Blissful Consciousness, the awareness principle is called the Karana-Deha (Causal Body).

Charvaka Muni, the founder of
quasi-philosophical Indian school of materialist thought ask thus:

“Bhasmi-bhutasya dehasya punaragamanam kutah rnam krtva ghrtam pibet yavad jivet sukham jivet”

Meaning- once your present physical body is burnt to ashes there is no question of coming back, so long as you live, live happily, incur debt and relish ghee. - in other words they encourage Svechachara “path of one's own will” which is close to selfish and self-centered nature. According to the Carvaka philosophy, there is no mind or soul independent of the body, the body is all, after the death of the body there is nothing else since the body is all...

They are logically correct as they are talking only of the Sthula-deha (Physical body) but what happens to the Sukshma-deha (Subtle body) also called Astral body. Our Subtle body which consists of our mind and intellect has the impressions of our unfulfilled ambitions and untold desires at the time of death in our previous birth. To fulfill those ambitions and desire a new body is required in the subsequent life.

Let us try to know what happens to the three bodies at the time of death? At death the Physical body is either buried or consigned to flames at cemetery but the Subtle body is airborne and it travels astral after physical death. It experiences the requital and is full of remorse recalling the events that had happened in the life span at that period. Subtle body does have thirst and hunger though it does not have physical senses to project those sensations. Hence Hindus believe in offering pinda (rice balls) to the departed soul, the subtle body by merely looking at the offerings gets sated. Causal body does not travel anywhere as it is it is the Mula Garbha (Original Embryo) or the source of the body often related as Paramjyothi (Light of Paramatma). It is the puddle into which Physical body and Subtle body merge in death and emerge out again at birth.

It is more important to know the connection between the three bodies. Subtle body is not an essential matter, but happens to be existent due to Vasanas (Tendencies) and Samskaras (Impressions) that are stuck to it over the period of many births. Let us suppose there is a mirror and I place it before the sun, if the sun ray is incident ray a reflected sunlight falls on the wall towards which I hold the mirror. What is the cause for the reflected ray? Is it not the lead behind the mirror? That lead is what I presume to be the Vasanas (Tendencies) and Samskaras (Impressions) that are stuck over the past births on the Subtle body which was at the beginning a crystal clear glass plane. It is the lead behind the clear glass plane which makes it behave like a mirror. If the Subtle body is non existent then there is no requirement of yet another Physical Body after the fall of the existing one. Therefore Vasanas and Samskaras are the reasons for Punarapi jananam punarapi maranam, Punarapi janani jatare sayanam- Again and again we are born, again and again we die, thus again and again we sleeps in the mother’s womb.

Hence Amritha Bindu Upanishad says thus:
“mana eva manushyaanaam kaaranam bandha mokshayoh”
Meaning -It is mind which is responsible for liberation or bondage.

Mind has to be free from tendencies and impressions it has to survive on present alone. Once this happen Atma which was clad with the three bodies get merge with Supreme Soul and annihilating the cycles of birth and death......Do you agree?

431. My Journey From and To the Divine Source…..!!!!!

http://www.speakingtree.in/spiritual-blogs/seekers/mysticism/my-journey-from-and-to-the-divine-source

I cannot consider myself as the physical body that everyone is witnessing. The body that I relayed on in my past birth had become unresponsive as Prana (life) left it. And my near and dear ones then had gracefully handed over the remains of the body to the five elements from which it had taken shape. So it is Bio-Physical Body.

That Bio-Physical Body was a mix of:
Water - Intra cellular fluids, extra cellular fluid, blood in arteries & veins.
Fire - Amino and Gastric acids in stomach and alkaline juice in bile, pancreas and intestine which convert the food I eat to Chyle.
Air - In respiratory system.
Earth - Skin, flesh, and bones.
Space - Mind, desires, thoughts, ideas, ego, emotions.

Billions of Neutrons maintained my brain with electrical charge using membrane proteins by pumping ions.

From all this I understood that my body functions through chemical, electrical, mechanical means so I am a Bio-Physical, Bio-Chemical, Bio-Electrical, and Bio-Mechanical body with a name, an ego and inevitable biological functions like hunger, thirst, desire to endure. Hence I compete with my fellow beings possessing an idea of survival of the fittest where struggle for existence is must. This has made me selfish and made me to over come all obstacles and live on as I egoistically know that I am the chosen one by the Divine Source.

At the start I was floating in the space gathering cosmic dust and awaiting the Divine Source orders for a suitable abode to accomplish the impressions and tendencies of my previous journey. I was aware of my previous existences and at that stage I had no attachments, no emotions. I was not concerned about all my previous abodes, was aware that I come from the Divine Source, and was anxious to repay my karmas and get back to that Divine Source.

The favorable moment came, and there was delight somewhere and as predetermined I found my abode in my mothers womb, where I had to spend 9 months, and even as I was inside I was vaguely aware of all that happened to me. I was fed up with the repeated arrivals at the womb and took an oath to stop this cycle. I was desperate to come out and made resolution that I will live a life of purpose once I come out and get liberated.

As the Divine Source and my Karma sentenced, the moment came and I was born, opened my eyes, took a deep breath, cried out loud, and completely forgot all about my past, my previous abodes, my cycles of rebirth and the resolution made in my mother’s womb. Now I am aware only of my hunger, thirst, my mother, later on my father, my people around me. Now I slowly developed likes and dislikes, pain and happiness, and a sense of ownership.

But somewhere deep within me in my core, I am becoming aware that all this is not me. I am not this Bio, Physical, Chemical etc body, not all those senses, not all those five elements. I am not me, it is something deep within and I have to realize that Truth, see my INNER Self with no name, no birth, no death, no feelings. That which is illuminating this Bio, Physical and chemical body is my Inner Self which is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. The bio, physical, chemical things illuminated by that Inner Self only served the purpose of a journey just like how a vehicle would benefit a traveler. I do not know what will happen next or how long I must travel in this vehicle or change into another or when I may reach my Last Destination about which only my Divine Source knows.
