249. We Humans are not Omniscient……….

http://www.speakingtree.in/public/spiritual-blogs/seekers/self-improvement/we-humans-are-not-omniscient

Absolute (Brahman) alone is Omniscient (Sarvagna) an individual (Jeevi) has limited knowledge (Alpagna). How much ever an individual can know by reading scriptures or by contemplating on the knowledge gained it would not be sufficient when compared to that of the Absolute. By the study of scriptures and contemplating over them and putting all that is known into practice may take the individual to the status of Manavottama (best of human being) but he can never be Purushottama (Supreme Being).

Why is it so????? If an individual is doing Sadhana and on the path of spirituality and is helping his fellow being we consider him God like, when he is considered God like then can he not be called Supreme????????

No, the qualities and behavior of a human being are the outcome of the situations. When he is living in this world having bonded with his family, friends, and relatives it is hard for him to maintain equanimity in his behavior. Behavioral changes are certain to a human being as long as he is considering himself to be the body and mind. One has to agree that with all the knowledge of steadfast living one will yield to the pressure of the situation although it many have many levels. Those who can withstand the pressure think it is the test of the time and have to endure with them and console themselves. If we cannot be Purushottama at least we can aim at being Manavottama.

This is a small story that I received through E-mail which will highlight the facts about the behavioral changes at crucial situations and the way an ordinary person as well as a person of steadfast nature would react to.

A doctor hurriedly entered the hospital after being called in for an urgent surgery. He changed his clothes and rushed to the surgery block. He found a person anxiously walking in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing the doctor, the person shouted, “Why have you come so late? Do you know that my son's life is in danger and being a doctor do you have any sense of responsibility?”

The doctor smiled and said, “I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital, and as soon as I got the information I wasted no time to rush to the hospital….... And now, every thing will be alright calm down and let me do my duty.”

You are asking me to calm down? Just imagine if your son was on the operation table, would you calm down? What if he died on the operation table???? Asked the father angrily

Doctor smiled again and replied: “I can only say every one has to perish if it is the will of the Absolute. As a doctor neither can I prolong the span of life of a patient even for a second nor reduce it by a second. All I can do is, do my duty by His grace.”

Advising and preaching when it is not our concern is so easy, murmured the father.

Surgery when on for hours and then the doctor can out of the operation theater and said, “Thank goodness, your son is saved” And without waiting for the father reaction he carried on his way running. “If you have any question, ask the nurse.”

Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state, Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.

The nurse answered, tears rolling down her cheeks: “His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial.”

The doctor could display his good gestures at the time of crisis in his life as he thought though his son is gone; it is his duty to save another person’s son. This is being "Manavottama" which to the father of the boy would be like looking at "Purushottama" in that doctor.

Some say that Doctors are second God, may be true if there are such doctors.

What say?????????????????
