Samskrta Diwas (Sanskrit day) was first observed in the year 1969 to spread
awareness about the ancient language which is mother of all Indian languages. This
day falls on the Rig / Yajur Upakarma day on Shravana Purnima (full moon day in
the month of Shravana as per Lunar calendar).
