It
is no longer an exaggeration if a newspaper or a news channel puts out a
situation involving A, B, C, D, E, and F. The news look something like
this A and B is a married couple but A has an affair with C and D is
interested in B, C is actually married to E and E has an eye on the wife
of F. F and A had had an extra marital relationship. It is all so confusing and yet society
loves to read such kinds of news and gossip about them in the office
and workplace. Same in the Indian Soap Opera almost every serial has a
story spun around extramarital affair. If every news and every info
entertainment means are filled with such unwanted tablets then how will
society get out of the obsession of want of hearing them more? They say
sex sells and unfortunately we are proving them right. Any creative
artist chooses a topic in such a way that there is an attracting pill called sex in his subject.
I sometimes wonder, have we become a society of creature obsessed with getting pleasure and entertained with bizarre instances. Off the entire bizarre subjects sex related topic become more prominent just because there is morality attached to it. In general it is the pleasure seeking factor that is hidden fact and more vital than the ethical factor for an individual to entertain such bizarre things. No matter how unethical it is the pleasure factor drives the unprincipled lot to go for it. And to cater to that lot there is an army of suppliers who search for such news and events.
Now it is become so customary that even to advertise and sell a general product there has to be something bizarre as a crowd puller. When the creativity in a person to advertise goes down he looks for a celebrity or a skimpily clad lady to pull crowd. The cheapest and much wanted is the latter; though we talk of respecting women and giving equal rights to women none has opposed this venture.
All the celebrities join hands to fight for cause and if it comes to supporting removal of AIDS and cancer they are the front runners but it is so very unfortunate and idiotic that they endorse extramarital affair and drinking in their movies. Of late movies are used as advertisement for alcohol as it is banned to advertise in Indian media. Since there is no sincere dedication towards health and only lip service are provided by the film stars on the cause, while the liquor lobby is using the very celebrities to promote alcohol. Consumption of alcohol in movies is depicted as relishing a cup tea or coffee. With our younger generation aping their idols this has lead to increase in sales of alcohol but the celebrity wash off their hands by pointing to the younger generation to use their imagination and resources better. Now who is to be blamed is the question??
It is not the provider or the supplier it is the recipient who has to be blamed. If there are no buyers of animal skin products poachers do not exist. If there are no buyers a seller finds it very hard to survive. When the society comes out of the obsession of bizarre and uncanny matters then automatically that merchandise looses market and finally disappears…….Am I right??????
