186. Living Life with a Sense of Gratitude…….

Gratitude is the virtue that has a possitive impact on the personal life and improves the relationship with others. It is a human emotion. It is the quality of the Soul; it is not subject of quantity. Ingratitude is the quality of Ego; it is the subject of quantity. When we are in soulful consciousness we are thankful with whatever little or more we possess. If we go by our Ego consciousness we are never satisfied and we are never grateful.

Sense of Gratitude is not something that we show off externally but it should be an integral part of life. A person of gratitude is a humble person. Expression of Gratitude sometimes wipes of the feel of indebtedness in an individual. Some assume that being grateful is projecting the inferiority complex, but then to whom are we inferior to. In a way man has been a dependent entity. There is nothing in this universe he can achieve being independent. Some are opportunists; they would need people only when they are in need of them. This is the worst possible attitude an individual can possess. While a few believe that anything and everything can be brought out if there is enough money. Yes, money has the capacity to buy anything but there are few things that money cannot buy it include love and affection. The sense of gratitude has the power to melt down any person and make love and affection overflow from him.

Act of gratitude is the key to unlock hearts. It has the capacity to turn negativity into positivity. Lack of Gratitude is a root cause of an unhealthy relationship. It is the fastest way to dry up the abundance one has. It breeds greed, lethargy, apathy and reduces motivation. When there is lack of motivation there is no creativity. With no creative force the loop of unhappiness encircles. Unhappiness leads one to self destruction.

One day when Lord Krishna was slicing an apple he cut his finger. All his eight wife were shocked to see Krishna bleed and did not know what to do, Draupadi immediately tore off a piece of her sari and wrapped the finger to stop it from bleeding. Krishna said that with this loving act, she had him in debt and he would repay every “thread” when the time comes. Indeed, when Draupadi needed Krishna’s protection and fervently prayed for his help, he came to the rescue and gave her unlimited cloth.

“Gratitude is a mark of a noble soul and a refined character.”
