Let us suppose there are many drops of water on a surface. The reflection of the Sun is seen in each drop of water, isn't it? In every drop of the water on the surface we can see Sun. This each reflection that appears is a part and is mentioned as Vyashti (Individuality). Now if the drops of water combine together to form a puddle there is a single reflection of Sun in it. The reflection of the Sun that is visible now after all the drops of water combine to form a puddle is Samashti (Totality). Just because there were many reflection of the Sun individually in as many drops of water on the surface, we cannot expect so many reflections of Sun when the water has combine to form one water body Isn't it???
Exactly in the same line the aggregate of many individuals is called Samashti (Whole), and each individual is called Vyashti (Part). You and I are each Vyashti and society is Samashti. An animal bird, reptile, tree, creeper, You, I, are all Vyashti, while this entire universe is Samashti, which is called Brahman.
Without an individual, there cannot be society and without a society there cannot be Srishti (creation). Hence the role of individual is more important to understand the principle of society and then the concept of creation. One who tries to understand in this flow manner he alone is able to know about the creator or the Paramesthi. As he is the part of that whole, Paramesthi.
There is not much difference between the Individual Soul and the Cosmic Spirit. So long as the individual identifies himself with the body mind and intellect concept he is in a very ordinary level of existence. It is only when he identifies himself with whole can he understand the principle of creation. So, firstly man should make efforts to understand the true meaning of his individuality.
It is then the question of Ko Aham???? (Who am I???) will arise. It is the beginning of a wonderful journey of quest to experience the unknown.
The journey from the part to the whole, Microcosm to Macrocosm, Individuality to the Totality…………
