205. When Lord Krishna Lost His Cool and Forgets His Own Words……

Lord Krishna’s last bit to prevent war goes in vain when Duryodhana refuses to part with mere five villages to Pandavas.

The war becomes inevitable.

Pandavas and Kauravas start aggregating their forces. They went to every king to seek support to them. Krishna had one of the largest armies called as Narayani Sena and was a great warrior Himself. Duryodhana and Arjuna thus both went to Krishna at Dwarka to ask for His help. Duryodhana arrived first, and found Krishna asleep. Being arrogant and considering himself equal to Krishna, he chose a seat at Krishna's head and waited for Him to wake. Arjuna arrived later, and being a humble devotee of Krishna, chose to sit and wait at Krishna's feet. When Krishna woke up, He saw Arjuna first and gave him the first choice to make his request. Krishna told Arjuna and Duryodhana that He would give His Narayani Sena to one side, and Himself unarmed to the other. As Arjuna was given the first opportunity to choose, Duryodhana was worried that Arjuna would choose the mighty army of Krishna. When given the choice of either Krishna's army or Krishna Himself on their side, Arjuna on behalf of the Pandavas chose Krishna, unarmed on His own, relieving Duryodhana, who thought Arjuna to be the greatest fool. Later Arjuna requested Krishna to be his charioteer, and Krishna, being an intimate friend of Arjuna, agreed wholeheartedly. Both Duryodhana and Arjuna returned satisfied.

At the war Bhishma fought so strongly and Arjuna had no answer to the raining of arrows. Krishna who had took a vow to protect dharma, could not let Bhishma go on the rampage like that and keep quite. He had to protect Arjuna and Pandavas to uphold Dharma. He found a broken chariot nearby and took the wheel in His hand and rushed towards Bhishma. Looking at this Bhishma puts down the bow and arrow and surrenders himself to Lord saying with folded hands “You can kill me O Lord, and release me from this bondage” Arjuna gets down from his chariot and holds the feet of Krishna and requests Him not to breach the promise. And then the war continues and Arjuna took the help of Shikhandi and Bhishma was overpowered.

As Bhishma waited for his death on the Bed of Arrows, to the request of Yudhisthira recited the “Vishnu Sahasranama” (the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu) and remembers the Lords name as “Rathangapani” (Rathanga is the part of Chariot, Pani is Hand) One who uses wheel of the chariot as weapon. Absolute will never tolerate Adharma’s upper hand at anytime, to restore Dharma He does not mind His Promise and even can lose His Cool and will not waste a second to destroy those who are on the side of Adharma……
